In fact, you can escape into the paintings, sculptures and masterpieces of talented artists in Sutton’s many art galleries: Centre d’art Arts Sutton, Galerie Art Plus, Galerie D’Art Les Imagiers or even at Parc D’Arts et de Rêves. For those who want to spend some energy, it’s also possible to discover mountain sculptures directly at Mont SUTTON, in our open-air museum!

 

Moreover, if you want to be touched, entertained, or amazed, the SAG, formerly known as the Salle Alec et Gérard Pelletier, is the ideal place to spend your evening starting in fall. On the program: music, theater, singing, improvisation and more! Otherwise, during the summer, come and enjoy musical Saturdays directly at the foot of the Mont SUTTON trails!

 

Are you a curious person who enjoys history? If so, you can also discover Sutton’s Heritage Tours, offering some truly enriching cultural experiences. If you like walking as much as history, the Village Walking Tour being a one-hour cultural walk is perfect for you. Alternatively, the 33km Rural Circuit or the 45km Churches and Cemeteries Circuit, both of which can be done by car or bike, will allow you to discover the richness of the Sutton community and of its heritage.

 

And if you want to extend your cultural journey, you’ll be amazed by the Township Trail, a 418-kilometer touristic route! Along the way, you’ll encounter charming villages, ancestral barns, covered bridges, historical houses, magnificent churches, and even more architectural gems!

 

 

Always looking for out-of-the-ordinary activities?

 

Just at a 15-minute drive from Mont SUTTON, you’ll find a magnificent ancestral farm raising alpacas! That’s right, a farm with a gigantic family of adorable alpacas! At Alpagas Sutton, you can feed the alpacas with treats and even take part in a tour to find out more about this animal and the history of the farm where they are raised.

 

Fascinated by viticulture?

 

In Sutton, you’re surrounded by an array of sumptuous vineyards. You’re practically in the cradle of Quebec’s viticulture! In fact, at just 18 minutes away from Mont SUTTON, you’ll find the gracious 173-acres Château Ste-Agnès vineyard that has impeccable views of the green and white mountains, and where you can enjoy rich wine tastings. Nearby, you can also visit the vineyards of Domaine Girouard and Domaine Bresee.

 

Furthermore, you can visit the Orpailleur vineyard in Dunham, a pioneer in the cultivation of vines in Quebec for the past 40 years! On site, you can take part in a wine tasting, discover their complete selection of wines in their boutique and take part in an interpretive tour to learn more about the history of the vineyard.

 

If you haven’t had enough and consider yourself a wine and vineyard enthusiast, you can also continue your visit on the Wine Route. This sublime 140-kilometer route which travels you through the fabulous Brome-Missisquoi countryside will introduce you to 22 vineyards.

 

What’s more, the Wine Route is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! Throughout the month of July, you’ll be treated to a variety of musical performances, ensuring you a warm and festive atmosphere during your visit. You’ll also have the chance to discover 5-course menus from renowned chefs, all designed to offer you a phenomenal gastronomic experience.

For local producers fanatics!

 

If you’d like to support local producers and discover a variety of local products and foods, come, and visit the Sutton public market, held every Saturday from 9am to 1pm until mid-October. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the wide selection available and the wonderful encounters you’ll make!

 

 

For food lovers!

 

In the welcoming village of Sutton, you’ll also find a wide range of restaurants and local food vendors to satisfy your appetite or simply to treat yourself. For the more adventurous, you can spend a night or more at one of our 21 campsites right at the summit of Mont SUTTON, at an altitude of 840 meters! You could experience breathtaking sunsets and incredible sunrises! What’s more, there’s no need to carry a lot of food to the summit, as a delicious menu of prepared dinners, just waiting to be cooked on one of our communal fire rings, is available upon reservation.

 

For travelers with a van or RV, you can also spend the night in one of our designated parking lots, for just $20 a night. You’ll be sleeping in a completely natural setting, with a phenomenal view of the Eastern Townships!
