News for 2024-2025 Ski Season!
🌟Find out what’s in store for you this season!🌟
60,000 grants for a greener future 🌱
We are pleased to announce that Mont SUTTON has received a $60,000 grant from Transition Énergétique Québec, as part of the EcoPerformance program. The grant rewards our efforts to reduce our ecological footprint, notably by switching from heating oil to propane and installing a dual-energy electric boiler. The result: a reduction of 42.13 tonnes of greenhouse gases per year, equivalent to the annual consumption of 20 cars!
We should also mention the addition of 4 universal electric charging stations in parking P2B, bringing the total number of universal charging stations to 9 out of a total of 10 for charging all types of electric cars, which are also available to customers free of charge.
In addition, new, more efficient snowmaking equipment has just been installed at the mountain, and the search for better ways to improve the efficiency of the system while better adapting to climatic variations is always at the heart of our efforts.
New equipment and optimised snowmaking ❄️
Talking of snowmaking, research and development continues unabated, with a variety of new equipment being tested again this year and with a view to analysing different systems. New snow poles and snow fans will be tested at several locations on the ski area, along with a variety of software to optimise the use of resources. Last year’s trials proved conclusive, with the addition of a new high-performance fan to boost the snowmaking department’s output. New nozzles and nucleators have also been added, and the arrangement of the heads on the poles has been redesigned to respond better to new climatic challenges and to be even more effective at marginal temperatures. These improvements allow snowmaking at higher temperatures, making our system better adapted to climatic variations and optimising possible snowmaking periods.
