A new learning zone is now open to everyone in order to offer an ideal area to learn the basic mountain bike maneuvers. Located in the Family Zone, three loops are offered in a safe environment without trail crossing for a total of 320 meters. This new zone is excellent for learning about turns, drops, gear changes and the proper movement to execute in preparation for a ride on the network’s modules and obstacles.

In the first loop, a drop and a series of rollers are used to understand, among other things, the pumping movement to be performed to maintain the optimal speed and control. The second loop offers a series of berms with a perfect flow in order to understand the position of the body to adopt in a trail with berms such as the Tricoté serré. Finally, the last loop and the longest one, joins Les Farfadets trail allowing the transfer of all the skills to the trails.

The new mountain bike learning area is perfect for newbies on a mountain bike initiation lesson. In a small group of 4 friends (maximum) and lasting 2.5 hours, our instructors offer some basic tips to make you autonomous and confident on the beginner level trails of our mountain bike network. This course is offered partly in the new learning zone and partly in the easy section of the mountain bike network. After the lesson, riders will certainly enjoy going back to refine the techniques they have learned. Although priority is given to clients taking lessons with our mountain bike school, the learning zone is part of the network and is available to all holders of a season pass or day ticket.

Designed by the Mont SUTTON’s bike school and operations team, excavated and built by Sentiers de l’Est with the help of our employees, we are talking of a new investment of $10,000 for the Plein air Sutton MTB network, totalling already $205,000 injected directly by Mont SUTTON in the development of the network since its first year in 2017. Excluding the purchase of equipment for services, rental bikes and training of instructors in particular. And notwithstanding the contribution of the numerous volunteers and all the expenses related to the maintenance, the development and the governance of Plein air Sutton; amounts which are almost entirely supported by the ticketing revenues.
