Mountain biking and hiking for a great season starts!

Great news! We finally got the green light for the recreational practice of certain outdoor sports and activities such as mountain biking and hiking.

Mountain Biking

We are so happy to announce that the progressive opening of the mountain bike trails will take place as of May 30, 2020!

The preparation of the mountain bike circuit is well underway and a volunteer day of chores is planned for Saturday, May 23, 2020. In order to respect the government regulations concerning essential transportation, this first chore organized by Plein air Sutton, will be for volunteers from Sutton and the immediate region only.

As we are still in a period of deconfinement and that it is imperative to continue to respect the social distancing instructions and sanitary measures in effect, we are doing our utmost to ensure everyone’s safety and are also asking for everyone’s cooperation. Furthermore, when registering for this day of chores, time arrival periods will be assigned so as not to create a gathering.

Take note also that the services and infrastructures of Mont SUTTON remain closed until further notice. Therefore, the shop will not be open, nor the lockers, the rental center or even the toilets for the moment. We can’t wait to see our friends and visitors coming from other regions but we will have to wait a little longer.

Hiking trails

Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted with the progressive opening of the trails of the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton. Do you want to exercise and clear your mind without being too far from home? Take the Village Mountain Trail and also take advantage of the opportunity to encourage your local merchants. This is the first trail to open, others will follow.

You will find details on the opening of the hiking trails including the code of conduct for this pandemic period on the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton website.

Camping

We remain positive and hope to be able to open the campsite on the usual opening date in early June. Additional measures will be put in place in order to comply with government standards of social distancing and hygiene. We are waiting for the final details of the sanitary intervention protocol and the opening date, and we will be ready to open as soon as it is allowed.

Information about the services offered is already online at montsutton.com/camping and you can book your stay now while waiting for the next announcements. We will, of course, advise in the event that services need to be reviewed.

Events: XTrail, XMAN, Swiss National Day Celebration…

As you know, the Government of Quebec has required that no events be held until August 31, 2020. We are therefore looking forward to next summer for the XTrail, XMAN and Swiss National Day Celebration which are officially postponed to 2021. We hope to see you on the starting line next year!

Wishing you all a good breath of fresh air soon!
