Mountain Bike & Disc Golf
Still offered 7 days a week
Mountain biking was very popular during the recent Fall Festival, with a marked increase in the number of visitors on our trails (nearly twice as many enthusiasts opted for the Enduro Packages), as well as in the MTB & equipment rentals (+26%) and the lessons taken with the Mountain Bike School (+161%)!
Since our various services are gradually shifting into ski mode here at the mountain, the weekend of October 25 and 26 is your last chance to try our Mountain Bike Initiation or check out the MTB sale currently underway at the Rental Center. The Boutique Expérience SUTTON’s Mega Sale (summer & winter gear and clothes) is also still on. Although, note that the mountain biking and disc golf seasons will continue until November, depending on what Mother Nature has in store for us in the coming weeks!
The perfect opportunity to test out the latest MTB features!
Two exciting new additions were inaugurated on October 10 on the mountain bike network developed and maintained by Plein air Sutton / MTB. First, a new expert module consisting of a classic converted Tucker Sno-Cat, a collaboration between Mont SUTTON, Plein air Sutton / MTB and Martin Demers, rated double black, has been added at the end of the Tucker trail. It includes an approach line, a step up with a pit, a 4.5m walkway, and a 2m drop.
A new intermediate-level learning trail was also inaugurated at the same time! This addition was made possible thanks to the combined programs of Programme d’aide financière aux infrastructures récréatives, sportives et de plein air (PAFIRSPA), meaning Financial Assistance Program for Recreational, Sports, and Outdoor Infrastructures, from the ministère de l’Éducation and Plan Montagne from the ministère du Tourisme. This 800-meter freestyle downhill trail was built jointly by the craftsmen of Sentiers de l’Est and Wolf Bike Park. The goal was to create a trail that would allow users to learn different types of modules in a safe, controlled, and repetitive environment, enabling them to progress and acquire new skills. It features seven table tops, one step up, two drops, and one step down. The 400-meter climb leading to this new trail was built by the Plein air Sutton / MTB team.
In addition, until the end of the season, trailbuilders will be blowing leaves every Thursday and Friday to maximize the quality of the network’s trails on weekends!
The perfect fall outing
Combining a beautiful scenery and the pleasure of being outdoors, the mountain also offers disc golf with an 18-basket course in wooded terrain, accessible at low cost and suited for the whole family. The course will still be accessible alongside mountain biking. For any group outing this fall, consider taking a clinic with professional Julien Quenneville to master the basics of this fun and sportive activity, which is sure to become a favorite for young and old alike!
Towards a new winter season
That said, Mont SUTTON is slowly preparing for the start of its 65th ski season, and sales of used ski equipment at the rental center, in addition to winter sales at the Boutique Expérience SUTTON, will continue for some time. You can even take advantage of your visit to the mountain to make your reservations and pick up your seasonal rentals, or sign up for group lessons at the snow school. Did you know that 5-Day and 7-Day SUTTON Pass holders enjoy a 30% discount on their subscription to the snow school’s new adult programs? They also get an exclusive 2-for-1 deal on tune-ups at the repair shop until December 1, so they could hit the slopes as soon as possible.
Don’t have your season pass yet? Several affordable options are available online, including the 2×2 Pass and 4×4 Pass, on sale exclusively until December 31! The popular SUTTON Cards, for 2 to 5 trips to the slopes, are also now available and on presale with an additional 10% discount until December 15.
Now is the time to shop for ski products and trips, or to do some early holiday shopping!
