Did you ride at Mont SUTTON lately?

Launched in summer 2017 at Mont SUTTON, the mountain biking trail network developed and maintained by the non-profit organization Plein air Sutton / MTB has more than doubled in size, now offering over 47 km of trails for all skill levels, from beginners to experts. These varied trails, focused on cross-country and enduro, quickly gained popularity thanks to their unique charm, the challenges they present, and the dedicated trailbuilders crew that keeps them in top shape.

 

This new season is no exception, and many improvements have been made on your favorite network: for example, some trails have been redesigned to enhance the experience, and several trails have undergone extensive maintenance, including upgrades, new sections added, refined intersections and junctions, and new lines for new challenges!

 

Here are some updates & maintenance you may have missed if you haven’t ride the Plein air Sutton / MTB trails at Mont SUTTON lately…

 

Note, among other things, the incredible work done on the tracks Tiguidou mon minou, Tucker, Cé parti mon Kiki, Tricoté serré, also on the steep section of J’ai mon voyage, and the complete resurfacing of Aweille en l’airPaie-toi la traite. You may have already noticed some work done, but the Grande séduction will also gets its share of love by next fall.

 

And what about the upgrades that will undoubtedly enhance your experience on the network! A change has been made to the route to improve the Tiguidou mon minou trail after the Pas l’temps d’niaiser intersection. See the work that has also been done on the transition from Skimo to Tiguidou mon Minou and Tiguidou Right Through, as well as the new section with jumps and berms, and the end of La Chasseur. Plus, if you haven’t ridden French Kiss and its new ending yet, you’re missing out!

Tuesdays that bring people together…

To stay informed about updates and news on the trails, you can stay in the heart of the action and get your hands dirty every Tuesday as part of Mardis Digs by following the Plein air Sutton / MTB Facebook and Instagram pages! These volunteer work nights across the entire network bring together people of all ages who share a love of mountain biking. They are a wonderful expression of the community’s love for its MTB network and the best way to actively participate in the development and maintenance of your favorite mountain biking network. No experience is necessary to enjoy these memorable evenings!

Looking ahead to a month full of exciting mountain biking experiences at Mont SUTTON (MTB Fridays will also continue on August 22 and 29 with a revised schedule from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. to take advantage of the sunshine, while we are waiting the Marin Wildside Enduro race this weekend and the MS Mountain Challenge on Saturday, August 16), a new intermediate progression trail is set to begin construction (thanks to the PAFIRSPA grant – meaning Financial Assistance Program for Recreational, Sports and Outdoor Infrastructure – and the Plan Montagne from the ministère du Tourisme, ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation & ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation – given to Plein air Sutton / MTB) and will be inaugurated for this fall. This new trail will be developed by Sentiers de l’Est in collaboration with the Wolf Bike Park team and, of course, our dedicated trailbuilders, who are undoubtedly responsible for the success of the Plein air Sutton / MTB network and the enjoyment on the trails at Mont SUTTON!
