NEW CHAIRLIFT FOR THE 2026-2027 SEASON: PROGRESS UPDATE!
Dear members, dear customers, dear outdoor enthusiasts,
We hope your summer is going wonderfully and that you’re enjoying the beautiful weather! As a mountain lover, you’ve surely heard the rumor, which is no longer one: Mont SUTTON will open a new quad chairlift with a boarding carpet for the upcoming ski season. Expected completion date: November 2026. This means that construction on the long-awaited new Chairlift I is proceeding smoothly.
Many of you may have noticed a helicopter in the skies over Sutton on July 9 and 10… It was there to make progress this massive, impressive construction site. As the school year begins and now that the chairlift towers are starting to be installed, Mont SUTTON’s team is excited to give you a sneak peek and some updates on this large-scale project to inspire you, too, to be part of this new chapter in our history this coming winter.
Below is a fast-forward recap of the last three months, some very busy days for our operations team, filled with excavation, blasting, concreting, assembly of various parts, and tower installation, not to mention the appearance of that massive helicopter last July!
This $8 million investment is designed to enhance your comfort, with a special focus on beginner skiers and families, who will have easier access to the family zone.
We will definitely keep you posted on the progress of the work in a few weeks, to make you even more eager to join us! If you visit us soon, or during the Fall Festival (from September 19 to October 18), it will be a great opportunity to see how the installation is progressing. Of course, there’s still a lot to do to properly prepare the west zone for the winter season: among other things, a redesign of the learning zone is planned, with a new magic carpet being added to the one we have, bringing the total conveyor length to 90 meters. More good news: the work required for the installation of the new chairlift is also resulting in a softer slope for beginners and intermediates, as well as giving us the opportunity to improve the snowmaking system, which will in turn allow us to increase our snowmaking capacity in this sector!
So, if you don’t already have your 2026-2027 SUTTON Pass, we remind you that all passes, including the very advantageous Little Pass which will give you unlimited access to this newly revised zone, are 10% off in presale until September 30. Finally, before the first snowflakes fall, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter so you don’t miss out on any of the many events at the mountain, and, most importantly, to not miss your invitation to celebrate this grand opening with us!
Best regards,
The Mont SUTTON Team

This major project is made possible with the support of the Ministère du Tourisme. As a reminder, in spring 2024, the Government of Quebec awarded Mont SUTTON a $5 million grant through the Tourism Industry Recovery Assistance Program (PARIT) to support the development of our four-season destination in the Eastern Townships. This grant also supports the addition of RFID gates to the chairlifts, a signature lookout, the development of new four-season glamping sites near Chairlift V, and the addition of more sculptures along the trails to further enhance our open-air museum.
