New groomer and $725k in Investments
As the whole team feels the palpable excitement of a new season ahead, we’re unveiling the season’s updates!
First, a look back at recent improvements
The past few years have been full of new developments at Mont SUTTON. In addition to making the switch to a four-season resort, the main chalet has undergone significant updates (furniture, reception area, bar, etc.), our snowmaking capacity has doubled with several new snowguns added, the piping has been upgraded to be bigger, new compressors installed, the water pumping system improved, the number of snow groomers increased, and so on. Last year, the elimination of fuel oil in favor of propane and the installation of an electric boiler, added to new universal electric charging stations and more efficient snowmaking equipment marked the season.
For the upcoming season
This year, your mountain will kick off its 65th season, which also marks the tenth anniversary of its acquisition by the Ryan Group! Ten years already, with significant investments that continue to this day…
At the operations, new for this season, we have acquired a brand new Bison X Winch Stage V snow groomer, a Prinoth Husky snow blower for our Sno-Cat 2000, and added new rolling equipment, totaling $725K in investments, along with a TechnoAlpin fixed fan on a tower for demonstration.
Additionally, there will be more events at the outdoor terrace of Bar Le Tucker, a completely revamped offer of ski lessons for adults (including an option aligned with the kids’ courses), a geocaching course on skis, and two new outdoor sculptures, a red-tailed hawk and the raccoons Sut & Ton with their snowboard. And don’t forget, a very comfortable addition with new cushions on all benches at the Chairlift II!
Moreover, Mont SUTTON is joining the Indy Collective this season, meaning that holders of an unlimited SUTTON season pass can get an Indy Add-on, allowing them to ski abroad too!
Finally, still available until Friday, November 21, you are invited to participate in the crowdfunding campaign for local artist Lysanne Sabourin and have YOUR personalized character, with either your name or your child’s name, to be installed in the Forest of Wonders during the season! A unique and original opportunity to make your mark in the mountain’s history.
Looking ahead to 2026-2027
But the big news at Mont SUTTON, the one everyone will be talking about will certainly be the transformed landscape of the west zone, which will already have a revamped look this year. From your first descents, you’ll notice some changes to the landscape as the operations team has started cutting the necessary trees at the top of the new quad chairlift’s location to ensure it’s ready for the start of the 2026-2027 season.
This new chairlift alone represents the largest investment in the mountain’s history, which is made possible by a $5M grant from the PARIT (meaning Tourism Industry Revitalization Assistance Program), is part of a larger development phase that will also include the installation of RFID gates at the chairlifts and new four-season glamping sites near Chairlift V. These are exciting additions in the years to come. We’re talking about new investments nearing $11M at the mountain.
Before the official season begins
We are already here to help you prepare for the season, even though the slopes are closed. If you don’t already have your Season Pass or SUTTON Card (currently on presale at up to 35% off), there’s still time to get yours so you don’t miss out on any of the action! In the meantime, you can also reserve your seasonal equipment at the Rental Center or shop the Black Friday Sale at the SUTTON Experience Boutique. While you’re there, check out our gift ideas for the Holidays! See our opening hours here.
Since ditches, crevasses, and rocks may appear at any moment, please do not access the slopes before we open to ensure your safety and the protection of the equipment. In addition, we all want to leave the site clear for operations so we could open as soon as possible.
With everyone’s effort, Mont SUTTON expects to welcome you for a first opening weekend on Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7, with a party at Bar Le Tucker for a Live Music Friday on December 5. With the first events at the mountain being announced soon, make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter to receive the latest conditions and promotions straight to your inbox.
Have a great season!
