Sutton, May 4th, 2021 – The winter season of 2021 was an atypical one! Thanks to the hard work by all of the industry and the employees of the mountain, it was very gratifying to see it come to fruition on April 10th especially in view of the extraordinary circumstances. It is now time to turn the page and move on to the next chapter, the upcoming summer season, which will have its share of novelty on account of a second phase of major investments. This will begin with the mountain biking season in mid-May, followed by the inauguration, at the end of June, of the much anticipated giant zipline activity.

10 million in investments at the end of phase 2

Following the announcement of a second important phase of investments last March, Mont SUTTON announces with great enthusiasm the first project of this phase to come to fruition, the double zipline. This unique activity in the region and the expansion of the mountain bike trail network is the undeniable mark of Mont SUTTON’s will to diversify and develop its activities offer over four seasons.

By the end of this phase, more than $10M will have been invested in the improvement and development efforts at the mountain. These new investments of $5M by 2023 are in accordance with the strategic development plan and are in addition to the $5M already invested. All the projects will allow Mont SUTTON to enrich and increase the offer with new distinctive outdoor activities as well as to develop, improve and upgrade some existing outdoor infrastructures and equipment, used at the mountain for summer as well as for winter operations.

These projects at Mont SUTTON will increase the notoriety of the mountain, enhance the tourism offer in the region, ensure the attractiveness of the Sutton area and by the same token stimulate the regional economy.

New activity: Giant zipline, the longest in the region

Without a doubt, anticipation runs high at Mont SUTTON as the installation of the infrastructure for the new giant zipline is in full swing. This major project will allow thrill seekers to careen down the mountain in a different way! The adventure will start with a chairlift ride to the altitude of 680m. Once at the summit, you will be able to enjoy the magnificent view of the Eastern Townships landscape. Then, after this moment of contemplation, one can move on to the action from the top of the zipline’s launching tower.

A colorful experience in a natural and omnipresent environment awaits nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts and thrill seekers!

This first section of the new giant zipline is one kilometer long, offering a breathtaking incline and view! After this great descent through the canopy, another 400m descent, on a second zipline, awaits adrenaline lovers. Once this second section is completed, one will have covered a total of 1400m of breathtaking travel through the air!
