SUTTON, May 16, 2024 – Just in time for the long weekend coming on May 18-19 and 20, Mont SUTTON is announcing the start of its summer season with the near-total opening of its mountain biking network, something exceptional this early in the spring! Mountain bikers will be able to hit the trails 7 days a week starting this weekend, which also marks the start of the disc-golf season.

Mountain bike network opens this weekend

Developed and maintained by the Plein air Sutton / MTB organization, Mont SUTTON offers a mountain bike network of some forty enduro and cross-country trails spread over more than 45 km.

Highly appreciated, this constantly evolving network promises even more great new features throughout the coming summer, the strength of this circuit being its constant renewal and its varied, ever-developing terrain. You’ll have to follow the Plein air Sutton / MTB and Mont SUTTON Facebook pages to be the first to discover them! To find out which trails are open, the pleinairsutton.ca website will post the open trails every morning.

A number of services will also be offered all summer long: initiations including equipment rental, private lessons to improve technique and gain in ease, equipment rental (including electric mountain bikes), repair shop and Boutique Expérience SUTTON to find everything you need for outdoor outings.

Although the chairlift will only be in operation from June 22, Enduro season passes for lift rides are on sale now. The chairlift will also be exceptionally open on Saturday June 15 for a season launch event! All passes purchased online and trail access tickets can be picked up at the boutique.

Discover the pleasures of disc golf

Great family activity, economical and easily accessible to all, the 18-basket disc-golf course also opens 7 days a week starting this Saturday, May 18. Hybrid of Frisbee and golf, a disc thrown into a basket allow the player to advance to the next “hole”! A booming sport in the province, Mont SUTTON’s wooded terrain is distinguished by its unique environment and variety of terrain. Season passes are also available, as are family packages for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 6 to 17).

Rustic camping at the summit and an overnight stay in an RV

Already expecting the first campers to arrive on June 1, the rustic campground at the summit, at 840 m of altitude, is always a popular choice for a unique experience in the heart of nature. Featuring some of the region’s most beautiful sunsets, an overnight stay at the summit also allows campers and hikers to fall in love with the panorama of the Eastern Townships at sunrise!

This ascent of the mountain is accessible to all, and promises a moment of absolute tranquility where four-legged companions are also welcome. A much-appreciated service, with reservations required at least 48 hours before arrival, the food at the summit option ensures the “home delivery” of the evening meal, which can be prepared on the shared fire pit. Reservations are mandatory and will be validated by the campground keeper on arrival. Campground sites are limited to ensure an enjoyable experience for all, and weekends fill up very quickly. To minimize the length of the hike, a chairlift ride can be added, cutting the trip in half.

To extend the pleasure and discover more of what the mountain has to offer, the overnight RV option, with no services, is also available at several Mont SUTTON parking lots. A minimal cost ensures its sustainability and allows you to spend the night in an exceptional environment, close to all the attractions.

Full offer from June 22

And all activities will be open to all from Saturday June 22, including chairlift rides, Enduro lifts for mountain biking, giant zipline and zipline coaster descents. It will soon be possible to reserve a time slot and dare to try out the zipline combo!

The outdoor restaurant at the foot of the slopes will also be offering a varied menu from 11 a.m. on June 22, to make dining on the mountain even easier. Music will be back on Saturdays from July 6. Among all these activities, you’ll want to take the time to stroll around and admire the outdoor sculptures that make up Mont SUTTON’s open-air museum.

Reservations are strongly recommended for all services, by phone at 1 866 538-2545, ext. 0, 7 days a week between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., or online (certain services only) at montsutton.com!
