August on two wheels at Mont SUTTON
SUTTON, July 31st, 2025 – The beautiful season is in full bloom, and everyone is joyfully taking advantage of the many outdoor activity options. For those seeking a blend of fresh air, scenic views, a sporty outing, a new discipline, or a peaceful ride, mountain biking is the activity of choice at Mont SUTTON on the Plein air Sutton / MTB trails.
A HIGH-QUALITY NETWORK IN CONSTANT EXPANSION
Launched in summer 2017 at Mont SUTTON, the mountain biking trail network developed and maintained by the non-profit organization Plein air Sutton / MTB has more than doubled in size, now offering over 47 km of trails for all skill levels, from beginners to experts.
These varied trails, focused on cross-country and enduro, quickly gained popularity thanks to their unique charm, the challenges they present, and the dedicated trailbuilders crew that keeps them in top shape.
Since the start of the season, some trails have been redesigned to improve the experience, and several have undergone major maintenance: upgrades, new sections added, intersections and trail junctions refined, new lines and new challenges proposed — all also thanks to the community’s love for their network and their active participation in Mardis Digs, volunteer work evenings that bring together mountain biking enthusiasts of all ages.
Looking ahead to a month full of exciting mountain biking experiences at Mont SUTTON, a new intermediate progression trail is set to begin construction (thanks to the PAFIRSPA grant – meaning Financial Assistance Program for Recreational, Sports and Outdoor Infrastructure – and the Plan Montagne from the ministère du Tourisme, ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation & ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation – given to Plein air Sutton / MTB) and will be inaugurated this fall.
MTB FRIDAYS, 4 TO 8 HAPPENINGS
Among the most popular events, MTB Fridays highlight the growing enthusiasm for mountain biking on sunny afternoons. On these special evenings, the chairlift remains open until 8 p.m. and Enduro Packages, including trail access and an unlimited lift rides option, are available on-site starting at 4 p.m. Add to that the famous Mont SUTTON chicken wings at 70¢ each, live music, and a laid-back, social atmosphere and it’s the perfect kickoff to the weekend with rides, descents, enduro fun, good food, and refreshing drinks. These happenings are set every Friday until August 15 and will possibly be extended until September 5, weather permitting and depending the attendance!
MARIN WILDSIDE ENDURO
August also brings back the Marin Wildside Enduro series, a summer classic at Mont SUTTON since the trail network’s inception. Through multiple stages, the event offers prize money for top seasonal results. This year, Sutton hosts the Race #4 of the series on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10, with the challenge open to all participants 15 and older, across multiple categories.
MS MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE
Also returning for its 5th edition, the MS Mountain Challenge aims to raise $110,000 for MS Canada in the fight against multiple sclerosis. The event will take place at Mont SUTTON on Saturday, August 16, with around 100 participants expected to tackle mountain biking challenges of 10, 20, or 30 km. Hiking options are also now available, making the event even more inclusive and dynamic. Whether solo or in a team, all are welcome to register online or support a participating team on https://mssp.donordrive.com/events/1239?language=en. A silent auction is also being held in support of the fundraiser.
EVERYTHING AND MORE IN ONE PLACE
Finally, whether the wish is to get a good challenge or to tame the sport, the Mountain Biking School offers initiations to the discipline, private lessons to develop the skills, and guided services to discover the trails based on everyone’s interests and the experience seeked! Junior, dual suspension, and electric mountain bikes are available for rent at the mountain — ideal for traveling light or simply to try out different makes before committing to a next bike purchase. The Boutique Expérience SUTTON has everything one may need in case of a forgotten item, whether it’s a piece of gear or clothing.
Whatever the experience looked for, whatever challenges wanted, the mountain bike trails of Plein air Sutton / MTB at Mont SUTTON are ready to welcome all, and the on-site teams promise a quality experience that will exceed all expectations! This summer, August is shaping up to be all about biking at Mont SUTTON!
