Mont SUTTON invites you to a ⛑️ Safety Day on the mountain with our Patrollers and Preventionists ⛑️ to help you discover what goes on behind the scenes of these vital positions on the ski trails, and to raise your awareness of safety on the mountain in a fun and immersive way (winter and summer alike!).
Stop by the kiosk at the foot of the slopes near chairlift II to ask our Patrollers and Preventionists your questions on site, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 22.
Interested parties will be able to spend a few hours with the team and experience a piece of their daily lives, and will be invited in coming to close up with us! We strongly recommend that you reserve your place here to guarantee your experience. Registration is in french since it is mandatory for the positions.
DUTIES AND ROLES
PATROLLER🚑
➡️ Respond to accidents, provide first aid and transport the injured.
Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., departing every hour for a 2-hour experience.
Maximum of 3 participants per patroller.
✅ Secure trails and check their condition
✅ Apply mountain rescue protocols
✅ Raise skiers’ awareness of the code of conduct
✅ Collaborate with preventionists to guarantee safety
Typical profile: Advanced skiing skills, ski first aid training, knowledge of french

PREVENTIONIST🩹
➡️ Prevent incidents and ensure compliance with safety rules on the mountain.
Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., departing every two hours for a 2-hour experience.
Maximum of 3 participants per patroller.
✅ Enforce the mountain code of conduct
✅ Identify and correct potential hazards on the trails
✅ Interact with skiers to ensure proper conduct
✅ Provide a reassuring and informative presence
Typical profile: Experience in safety (police, firefighter, military…), good physical condition, ski level enabling to cover the whole ski area, basic first aid, knowledge of french
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO
Depending on your interests and desired experience, you could:
- Visit the clinic
- Get an introduction to sled caches
- Discover the different types of sleds
- Learn about the patrol’s daily tasks and their organizational structure (station managers, officers, team leaders, patrollers)
- See how the AB and BD shifts work
- Discover the ins and outs of radio communications
- Get an introduction to traps, bamboo and streamers
- Understand the differences between patrollers and preventionists
- Visit the entire mountain to assess : your knowledge of the mountain + your skiing ability
