Directly behind Mont SUTTON’s main chalet, relax by listening to a free outdoor jazz concert every Sundays from September 20 to October 18, between 1 and 3 pm. Presented in collaboration with Sutton Jazz as part of the Fall Festival.

 

Programming

 

Sept. 20 – Almut Ellinghaus Jazz Ensemble

The Almut Ellinghaus Jazz Ensemble puts a fresh spin on traditional jazz standards while giving centre stage to original compositions by Stanley Lake and Michael Hynes. With rich harmonies, unexpected improvisations and daring interpretations, the ensemble offers an intimate, elegant and lively performance.

 

 

Sept.27 – Homebrew Dixieland Band

Formed in 1995 and hailing from the Eastern Townships, Homebrew Dixieland Band brings the festive spirit of traditional New Orleans jazz to life. With timeless melodies and lively rhythms, the band delivers a warm and engaging performance where classic tunes meet their own unique touch.

 

 

Oct.4 – Solstice Project

Projet Solstice brings together four musicians inspired by the European jazz of the 1970s, particularly the sound associated with the ECM tradition. Built primarily around original compositions, their music embraces an open approach to jazz, leaving plenty of room for improvisation and musical dialogue. A contemporary and exploratory performance shaped by the interplay between four musicians.

 

 

Oct. 11 – The Honeysuckle Sisters

The Honeysuckle Sisters take audiences on a musical journey through the golden age of swing. Drawing inspiration from the vocal harmonies of the Andrews Sisters, the trio puts a fresh spin on iconic tunes with contemporary arrangements, lively Latin rhythms and original compositions. An elegant, theatrical and energetic performance where retro charm meets a distinctly modern touch.

 

 

Oct. 18– Dominique Poirier Quartet

With accordion at the heart of its sound, Dominique Poirier Quartet explores the instrument’s unique colours through a repertoire that blends original compositions with jazz standards. Moving between contemporary jazz, straight-ahead jazz, Brazilian music and other influences, the quartet offers an unexpected musical experience.
