Friday conditions report coming at 6:30 Friday morning.
——-
A beautiful sunny day today.
Back to normal. Chairlifts 2 and 4 are in operation. Chalet 840 is open as a refuge, with 31 ski runs available this morning. The surface has been mechanically worked on several slopes last night and this morning.
Groomed tracks will be the most popular today.
Despite the huge amount of snow on the slopes, several of them have been temporarily closed to allow maintenance operations to rework them during the day and also not to degrade them by Friday. A team of technicians has been at work since this morning, in front of the main chalet, with a grooming machine, to build the pool that will be used for Snow on the Beach on Saturday. The amount of snow is phenomenal. The basin will be deep.
Conditions
On the slopes made of snow, you will find surfaces of groomed snow, somewhat hardened, on the majority of these, but that will soften with the appearance of the sun. All on firm bases and some more slippery plates are possible. The ungroomed slopes are on a hardened snow, stay vigilant (e) in your descents.
On natural snow trails and glades. Just like yesterday, we will find, for our first descents, ski snow hardened, firmer, in places and fine granular during the day, depending on the traffic. The bases are firm and areas scratched by the passage of users will be to watch. Here too, we remain vigilant.
Changes requested by the patrol team are always expected during the day.
The observed temperature at 5 a.m. this morning was -7 Celsius.
Lifts open today: Chairlifts II, IV and the Magic Carpet of the ski school.
The Chalet Alt.400m with its cafeteria is open and the Chalet Alt.840m, at the summit, with its fireplace and panoramic view, is open in refuge mode only.
The trails that have been groomed are posted on the daily report, in the main chalet and at the lift gates.
After mild weather and the return of frost, alpine hiking trails are closed until inspection and, if they reopen, ski crampins should be mandatory. For the pratice on the ski trails outside chairlift operation, see all details on the alpine touring page.
