THE OPERATION TEAM IN ACTION!

By  - Published on

Because the beginning of the ski season requires a lot of preparation, the large operation’s team has been hard at work on the site for several months now, putting everything in place to welcome you as soon as possible! Here’s an overview of some of the steps involved before the opening at Mont SUTTON…

Preventive maintenance on chairlifts and new boarding carpet

The pulleys were adjusted and the clamps checked. Weights were installed on the seat to check that the chairlift was working properly (Photos of chairlifts V and IV).

On chairlift IV, the new boarding carpet is also ready to receive its first skiers as soon as the mountain opens! A project that required long hours of preparation. We’re looking forward to an easier flow and more comfortable boarding experience!

Leaves were blown off and ditches dig to allow water to properly flow, and the ground was prepared for snow!

Bales are used to level the ground before the snowmaking begin.

The equipment has been set up over the past few weeks to enable snowmaker’s training!

The first snowmaking tests were done on the night of November 12 to 13, and the new equipment has been thoroughly checked!

The new pumping system and snowguns are working like a charm! Production capacity has been doubled and is delivering the expected results. Much greater quantities of top-quality snow for great results!

Suitable cold periods are already used for snowmaking.

A white carpet is already visible all over the mountain, with the help of modernized equipment providing greater and faster snow coverage! A promise for early access to the slopes! (Photos of Sutton-IK and Corridor slopes)

New groomer!

The new snow groomer acquired thanks to a grant from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) is ready! Essential to the smooth running of the opening process, the groomers have also been verified to ensure their good operation in the near future!

With these new features, it should be remembered that total investments for the coming season will reach 2.2 million across all operations departments.

An incredible modernization already felt! We look forward to welcoming you for the 2023-2024 season! Get all the upcoming news on the opening by subscribing to our newsletter.
