During five weekends, from September 15th to October 14th, 2018 come take in autumn and all its beauty at the Mont SUTTON Fall Festival!

 

Our calendar of activities will delight the whole family, as well as hiking, nature and even ski enthusiasts! Come out and take full advantage of the fall season, take in some fresh air, and enjoy the stunning views the Eastern Townships have to offer at the Mont SUTTON Fall Festival!

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 15

 

  • MINI OBSTACLE COURSE FOR CHILDREN
    9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Children can have fun trying all the different obstacles of the 2 obstacle courses. The first obstacle course is near the main ski chalet, the second one is near the summit of chairlift II… To get there, follow the indications as you come off the chairlift.

  • SLACKLINE TRIAL ZONE
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Slacklining is a stability and balance discipline. First, try standing and then try walking from one end to the other of the slackline… It is more difficult than it looks! Fun for all… little ones and grown-ups!

    10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Rates (taxes included):
    18 years old and over: $10
    6-17 years old: $7
    0-5 years old: Free
    The access to the Fall Festival site is free and the chairlift ride ticket includes access to the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton hiking trails.

 

  • INITIATION TO SNOWBOARD ON FOAM-FLOOR
    11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Children from three to six years old (even if nobody will be turned away!) will have the chance to take snowboard up for free on a foam-floor with SUTTON Snow School instructors and Riglets snowboards. For an active family activity, parents can even be involved!

  • CANTINE LE SHACK AT THE FOOT OF THE HILL
    11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    A variety of poutines and grilled cheese, burgers, and more!

 

  • SHORT GUIDED TOUR TO THE “MARMITE AUX SORCIÈRES”
    Starts at 12:30 p.m. 
    You’ve never hiked the trails of the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton? Here’s your chance! Discover the Marmite aux sorcières, where natural pools have been carved into the rock by the water flow over time, all this in a most magnificent decor. This short guided tour, of about 30 minutes roundtrip, is ideal for families with young children. It is important to be wearing hiking shoes or boots as you will be hiking on rustic trails. Welcome to everyone!
    Where: Departure at the base of the mountain, behind the main ski chalet.
    * Rain or shine! In case of rain, bring your raincoats!

  • YOGA-HIKE
    Starts at 1 p.m.

    The hike starts at 1 p.m. sharp behind the main ski chalet. Please arrive a few minutes ahead of time. Once at the summit, Sonia Baillon from Yoga Sublime will lead a 1-hour approximately yoga session. The group will return to the main chalet around 3 p.m.. Bring a yoga mattress and wear hiking shoes or boots.
    Registration on-site only. Limited number of participants (15 maximum). First come, first served!

  • REGIONAL WINE TASTINGS ($)
    1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    The Brome-Missisquoi Wine Route offers you the chance to taste regional wines near Mont SUTTON’s main chalet (Alt. 400 m) for a small fee. Also take this opportunity to learn about the different activities surrounding the harvest time!

 

  • LIVE SINGER WITH PIERRE-LUC BELVAL
    1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    Directly at the base of the mountain behind the main ski chalet, sit down and enjoy an outdoor music concert! In 2015, Pierre-Luc Belval reached the quarter-finals of La Voix III. He now performs the biggest past and present hits all around Quebec. From Les Colocs to Kaïn, from Johnny Cash to Justin Bieber… Get ready to groove!

  • QUICK KNITTING, FINGER KNITTING AND POMPOMS WORKSHOP FOR KIDS
    1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    With the chilly breeze of fall coming, what could be more comforting than to learn how to knit? There’s nothing easier than finger knitting! Children (and parents!) will be invited to try different finger knitting technics in order to make headbands, bracelets and other knitted goods. This workshop will take place at the base of the mountain (or inside the main chalet in case of rain).

  • GUIDED INITIATION HIKE TO THE “CHUTE DU PÉKAN”
    Starts at 2 p.m.
    You’ve never hiked the trails of the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton? Here’s your chance! Discover all the fun of hiking while discovering great landscapes and making the most of fresh air and nature. Although it has a few climbs, this trail is accessible to most people and young children (8 yrs old and over / not accessible with a stroller). This short guided hike takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes round trip. It is important to be wearing hiking shoes or boots as you will be hiking on rustic trails. Families are welcome!
    Where: Departure from the main chalet (Alt. 400m)

  • “DISCOVER THE SCULPTURES ON THE MOUNTAIN” GUIDED HIKE
    Start at 1:15 p.m.
    Come and discover the sculptures from the « Les Arts à la montagne » collective. The bear, the owl, the great woodpecker and the porcupine family were created by talented and passionate local artists. To take part to this guided hike, you will need a chairlift ride ticket. The group will be guided by Claude F. Gagnon. The ascent will be done by chairlift and the descent on foot. We recommand wearing good hiking shoes or boots. Having walking poles could also be a good idea. The hike should take around 90 minutes. Welcome to all!

The Honeysuckle Sisters offer you tight vocal harmonies of the 1930’s and 1940’s swing era, “Andrew Sisters” style, and original compositions for an exciting show!   • GRANDE-TERRE THE GIANT PUPPET FOLLOWED BY A HAND PUPPET WORKSHOP
    1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. : Meet Grande-Terre the giant puppet
    1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. : Hand puppet workshop for children
    During half an hour, from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m, Grande-Terre the giant puppet will be walking around the main chalet to share hope messages. It will be followed by a hand puppet workshop, during which children will be invited to create their own hand puppet. This arts and crafts workshop will take place at the base of the mountain (or inside the main chalet in case of rain). Welcome to all!

Her partner Shawn Pouliot and her form an acoustic duo and they play back classics old and new. The vocal hamonies are a strenght of this duo. With soul, jazz,  pop and folk influences, their musical synergy is expressed throught their singular performance.

Once at the summit, Sonia Baillon from Yoga Sublime will lead a 1-hour approximately yoga session. The group will return to the main chalet around noon. Bring a yoga mattress and wear hiking shoes or boots.

    Presented by the Sutton Jazz Festival

The HOMEBREW DIXIELAND BAND was founded in 1995 by Stanley Lake and David Sutherland. The band employs the traditional instrumentation of a dixieland group…trumpet, clarinet, trombone, banjo/guitar, bass and percussion. The members have changed over the years but the joy of playing traditional jazz has stayed the same. Up beat, toe-tapping, hand-clapping music with lots of singing, this group of professional musicians is a true crowd-pleaser.
