SUTTON, April 17<\/strong>, 2026\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0\u00a0The 65th ski season at Mont SUTTON ended last Sunday, April 12, in still exceptional conditions for this time of year. Since opening on Friday, December 5, the mountain received a total of 564 cm of snow at the summit over the season.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In this context, Mont SUTTON President and General Manager Jean-Michel Ryan reports a positive assessment of the season and highlights the main transitions ahead for the mountain.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Exceptional conditions and strong attendance<\/h4>\n

According to Mr. Ryan, the 2025\u20132026 season stood out for the quality and consistency of operations and snowfall, allowing for a long opening period and sustained skiing conditions: \u201cYou showed up in great numbers and with contagious enthusiasm to enjoy truly remarkable skiing conditions. Once again this year, the abundance of snow allowed us to experience a memorable season, but above all, it was your presence, your energy, and your deep connection to the mountain that gave it its true meaning.\u00a0Thank you also for your outstanding participation in our events, such as the Retro Day for the 65th season, Snow On the Beach, R\u00e9al’s Challenge\u2026<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A major transition in the mountain\u2019s west sector<\/h4>\n

The 2025-2026 season also marks the final year of operation for the west area chairlifts I, Iw, and IIw. These iconic double chairs will soon be dismantled to make way for a new quad chairlift with a boarding carpet, along with a redesign of the learning area including the addition of a second magic carpet. These new features are scheduled to be operational from the start of the next season.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These projects represent an investment of over $8 million and aim to modernize the customer experience and improve operational flow. The largest investment in the mountain\u2019s history, these works are made possible thanks to a $5 million grant from PARIT (Programme d\u2019aide \u00e0 la relance de l\u2019industrie touristique,\u00a0meaning Tourism Industry Recovery Assistance Program<\/em>), as part of a broader four-season strategic development plan.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As part of the dismantling, approximately fifty Mueller double chairs will be put up for sale. Details about this initiative will be announced soon and are already generating strong interest.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Continuity and recognition<\/h4>\n

This 65th season also marks Jean-Michel Ryan\u2019s 20th year as General Manager and 10th year as co-owner, making it a fitting time to recognize key contributors.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First, Sylvain Gervais and Pierre Chesnay, Mr. Ryan\u2019s business partners, whose commitment, vision, and collaboration have been essential pillars in the evolution of the four-season station.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The trust of the Boulanger family and their legacy of the skiable terrain, along with Luc Boulanger, still involved in operations, also deserve mention among the contributors to this success.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A special mention goes to Jocelyne Trudeau, who has been responsible of the morning snow conditions for over 35 years and is completing her final winter in this role. At Mont SUTTON, this is yet another example of the long-lasting bond between employees and the mountain.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Heading into the summer season<\/h4>\n

Mont SUTTON is now rolling out its 2026 summer programming, beginning in mid-May.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Upcoming activities and openings:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

May 16: Opening of the first mountain biking trails on the Plein air Sutton network + opening of the disc golf course, with course enhancements.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

May 30: Camping at the Summit overnight stays start for the season.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

June 20: First weekend of operation for Chairlift II, marking the return of the mtb lift rides, chairlift rides, and giant zipline.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mountain biking will also feature a regular schedule including spring and fall camps for ages 8 to 16, Tuesday Digs (starting June 30), MTB Fridays (starting July 3), as well as the MS Mountain Challenge on August 29 in support of MS Canada. The well-known 3-Day immersive camp tour\u00a0Into the Gnar<\/em>\u00a0will also stop at Mont SUTTON for the first time, its only stop in Quebec, from July 10 to 12.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A new Adventure Path, designed as an active course\u00a0made up of several modules, will also be inaugurated at the top of Chairlift II.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Presales and planning for the 2026-2027 season<\/h4>\n

Finally, Mont SUTTON reminds guests that 2026-2027 ski season passes are available at 15% off until April 30, including 5-Day and unlimited 7-Day options. Other seasonal products will be available starting May 1 at reduced rates. Mountain bike passes are also available for presale at 10% off until April 30.<\/p>\n
