We are thrilled to share more details about the development of our upcoming quad chairlift with a boarding carpet, scheduled to debut at the start of the 2026-2027 ski season!<\/p>\n

As a part of our ongoing strategic development plan to elevate the guest experience, this new lift \u2014 located in the western sector of the mountain \u2014 will significantly improve skier comfort and accessibility, with special attention to beginners, families, and groups who will enjoy easier access to the Family Zone. The chairlift will also be equipped with RFID access gates to streamline the lift boarding process.<\/p>\n

The project includes upgrades to the Learning Zone as well, such as the relocation of the current beginner magic carpet and the addition of a second introductory carpet. Snowmaking infrastructure in the area will also be enhanced to ensure optimal trail coverage.<\/p>\n

The total investment for the acquisition and installation of this new chairlift amounts to $8 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are proud to announce the purchase of a SkyTrac quad chairlift (by Leitner Poma), the first of its kind in Canada, reaching a capacity of 2,400 skiers per hour!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our entire team is incredibly proud and excited to unveil this major acquisition. Jean-Michel Ryan, our President and CEO, is delighted with this milestone, which represents the culmination of years of hard work, and bringing the mountain\u2019s development vision to life. He affirms: “This announcement is the result of extensive planning by all our teams over the past several years. The SkyTrac quad chairlift, thanks to the outstanding proposal by Poma Canada, meets every essential criterion we had for improving your experience and addressing your needs as expressed in recent years.<\/em>”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Construction will begin in spring 2026 and is expected to be completed by November 2026, to be ready for the start of the 2026-2027 ski season.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition to enhancing the guest experience and group logistics, this chairlift will replace three existing double chairlifts in the area, making operations easier for lift operators, ski instructors, and the entire staff.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Departing from the Family Zone near the Main Chalet, the new chairlift will offer direct and easy access to the entire west sector. The redesigned area, optimized for beginner and intermediate skiers, will help balance skier flow between the new lift and the main lift.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This major development is made possible thanks to support from the minist\u00e8re du Tourisme. In spring 2024, the government of Qu\u00e9bec granted $5 million to Mont SUTTON through the Programme d\u2019aide \u00e0 la relance de l\u2019industrie touristique (PARIT \u2013 meaning Tourism Industry Recovery Assistance Program) to implement the second phase of the project to become a four-season leading destination in the Eastern Townships.<\/strong> This phase also includes the addition of RFID gates at chairlifts, new four-season glamping sites near Chairlift V, and the continued growth of our open-air museum along the ski runs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nA First in Canada<\/h4>\n
