SUTTON, November 21, 2024<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>With the snowmaking season well underway, Mont SUTTON is announcing several improvements and new features in conjunction with the imminent opening of the station… including several major elements in the spirit of sustainable awareness endorsed by $60,000 grants from Transition \u00c9nerg\u00e9tique Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Although the development of its activities is constant, Mont SUTTON is aware of the importance of sustainable orientations in the modernization and improvement of its equipment, and the development of its objectives to minimize its ecological footprint.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As a result, research and development continues unabated, with a variety of new equipment being tested again this year with a view to analyzing different systems. New booms and fans will be tested at several locations on the ski area, as well as various software programs designed to optimize resource efficiency. Last year’s tests proved conclusive, with the addition of a new high-performance fan to increase the snowmaking department’s striking power. New nozzles and nucleators have been added, and the arrangement of the heads on the snow poles has been redesigned to better respond to new climatic challenges and to be even more effective at marginal temperatures. These improvements enable snowmaking at higher temperatures, making the system better adapted to climatic variations and optimizing possible snowmaking periods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The $60,000 grant awarded by Transition \u00c9nerg\u00e9tique Qu\u00e9bec as part of the EcoPerformance program<\/strong> rewards these recent efforts, mainly in recognition of its 42.13T reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per year. This major reduction, representing the equivalent of the annual consumption of twenty cars, is due to the complete elimination of the use of fuel oil in favor of propane and the installation of an electric boiler enabling the use of a dual-energy system.<\/strong> This system also benefits from the installation of a load manager enabling full control of demand and power requirements for optimum management.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We should also mention the\u00a0addition of four universal electric charging stations in the P2B parking lot<\/strong>, bringing the total number of universal charging stations to 9 out of a total of 10, available free of charge to customers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n With passes and products that are ever more accessible and affordable for everyone, it’s easy to find the product that suits your reality and your budget to ensure a many great outings on the slopes this winter. Keep an eye on the mountain’s website since tickets will be sold online and be limited.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In fact, you may already be able to catch a glimpse of the thirteenth Arts \u00e0 la montagne sculpture, part of Mont SUTTON’s Open Sky Museum plan, this time created by Bromisquoi artist Martin Hawley, La Buse \u00e0 Queue Rousse, an exceptional piece of recycled steel nearly 6 feet tall, with stained glass eyes that will mesmerize you.\u00a0<\/strong>As a reminder, the mountain is aiming to offer a playful cultural experience of 25 local works at the forest’s edge, representing elements of its local wildlife to enhance the experience of its visitors.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From the trails to the Bar Le Tucker<\/strong>, renowned for its unique ambience, you’ll want to stop by Sutton this season.
