This week, the newspaper La Voix de l’Est published an article on one of our patrollers: Justin Larivi\u00e8re. A mountain enthusiast, whom discovered his passion for giving back with his little first aid kit at the age of 7. He now shares his interest of skiing with his family on the slopes of Mont SUTTON, when he is not busy ensuring the safety of the clients. “He has been combining his passions for mutual aid and skiing for the past fifteen years on the slopes of Mont SUTTON”, which proves that it is possible to mix work and pleasure in an extraordinary environment that is the mountain.<\/p>\n

In this article, you can read a typical day as a patroller at Mont SUTTON. Here is an excerpt:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“The typical day begins in the morning with the verification of the medical devices and equipment. The sleds, stretchers, oxygen tanks and cardiac defibrillators are notably scrutinized. The goal is to ensure that everything is functional and available in sufficient quantity.<\/p>\n

The morning continues with a meeting, or a follow-up of elements that took place the day before or earlier and that could influence the work of the patrollers on duty. Changes on the mountain and the conditions on the trails are discussed. The patrol leaders issue directives to ensure that the day runs smoothly. Once the meeting is over, it’s time to put on the skis.<\/p>\n
