Although our snowmaking and trail maintenance crews are already at work during this time, we have designated trails for alpine hikers to reduce the risk of accidents. Please do not venture onto the surrounding trails as the maintenance crews may be on the trails. ***BEFORE 7:00 AM AND AFTER 8:00 PM, it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to be on the skiable terrain.*** The groomers and the use of winches with cable for grooming are a real danger for anyone on the trails! This high tension steel cable is attached to the groomer and can be up to 1km long. It can be difficult to detect because it can wobble, be hidden under the snow, or be under full tension. Don&#8217;t put yourself in danger!<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Safety rules and tips<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"toggle\">\n<h5 class=\"trigger\">Click here to read all<strong> safety rules<\/strong><\/h5>\n<div class=\"toggle_container\">\u2022 Respect the schedule and the ascent and descent zones determined by Mont SUTTON.<br \/>\n\u2022 Season pass or ticket MANDATORY (<a data-accesso-keyword=\"Ski_Ticket_Rando_EN\">purchase online here<\/a>).<br \/>\n\u2022 Pre-season and post-season alpine touring is prohibited due to the dangers on the terrain and snowmaking, grooming and maintenance operations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Verify the opening status of the alpine touring trails and ski trails before your departure, some trails\/exits could be closed: <a href=\"https:\/\/montsutton.com\/en\/?page_id=67834\">montsutton.com\/snowreport<\/a>.<br \/>\n\u2022 Climb only in designated areas (following the markers on the alpine touring trails or keeping to the edge of the ski trails where and when permitted). Check the authorized areas according to the schedule, refer to the map below.<br \/>\n\u2022 Stay visible. Climb in single file, never in rows of two or more.<br \/>\n\u2022 When the ascent trail crosses a ski trail, give way to downhill skiers and do not cross in groups.<br \/>\n\u2022 It is forbidden to descend on climbing trails and on non-designated, closed or trails being groomed.<br \/>\n\u2022 Before and after operation hours, from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. and from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m., please use the alpine touring trails or designated ascent zones and only use the designated descent zones. For your safety and the safety of our staff, do not leave these areas. Refer to the map below.<br \/>\n\u2022 Between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., you must be equipped with a white front light and a red rear light.<br \/>\n\u2022 If you encounter a vehicle (groomer, ATV), please wait by the edge of the trail for it to pass.<br \/>\n\u2022 At all times, use skis or splitboards (equipped with climbing skins) with metal edges, brakes and restraint straps. The use of crampons or snowshoes is prohibited.<br \/>\n\u2022 Don&#8217;t climb alone (minimum of 3 people recommended).<br \/>\n\u2022 The alpine touring trails are not patrolled. Bring a charged cell phone, but be aware that cell phone service is not available everywhere on the mountain.<br \/>\n\u2022 No rescue service is available when the ski area is closed. Dial 911 in case of emergency. Refer to the EMERGENCY section below for more details.<br \/>\n\u2022 Do not leave any garbage or traces of your passage and respect the surrounding forest by staying on the marked trails.<br \/>\n\u2022 Animals (dogs) are not allowed on the alpine touring trails and ski trails.<br \/>\n\u2022 At all times, respect the <a href=\"https:\/\/maneige.ski\/en\/mountain-code-conduct\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mountain Code of Conduct<\/a>.<br \/>\n\u2022 Mont SUTTON reserves the right to charge a $250 fee or more for assistance outside of its business hours and\/or marked trails + Possible revocation of access and fine.<br \/>\n\u2022 Access to the lifts requires a separate ticket or pass.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"toggle\">\n<h5 class=\"trigger\">Click here for <strong>extra tips<\/strong><\/h5>\n<div class=\"toggle_container\">\u2022 Be well equipped! We recommend that you make a reservation before your visit as the quantities are limited.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>New this season : Splitboards are now available for rent!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rates for touring skis OR divisible snowboard with skins, poles* and helmet :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. : $86<\/li>\n<li>Half-day PM, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.: $61<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The available sizes will be presented soon on the online store.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate for adding a regular ski boot or snowboard rental to your touring equipment rental <\/strong>(please note that alpine touring does not require specific boots, so your regular ski or snowboard boots will probably do. That said, alpine touring boots for &#8220;pin system&#8221; do not fit with our bindings.)<strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full day: $26<\/li>\n<li>Half-day PM: $22<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>* Please note that telescopic poles are offered with splitboard rentals only (so that they can be stored in the backpack when going down the slopes). For ski rentals, we offer non-telescopic poles. Rates for 2024-2025 season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>ALPINE SKIING GUIDE SERVICE<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since season 2024-2025, Mont SUTTON offers a new guide service available upon reservation 7 days a week for rando-ski enthusiasts. This new service is an <strong>introduction to Mont SUTTON&#8217;s alpine skiing trails<\/strong> thanks to a guide who will assist your ascent to fully enjoy your climb up to altitude 680m or 840m, depending on your desired route.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The guide will check the conformity of your equipment, its operation and adjustment in case of rental, and will guide you for the ascent only. An intermediate level of comfort is required for an autonomous descent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Price for one participant<\/strong> (all ages): <strong>$170 + tax<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Price per additional person<\/strong> (no maximum per group): <strong>$40 + tax<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reservations required, a<strong> minimum of 48 hours in advance<\/strong>, by telephone only at <strong>1 866 538-2545, option 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONDITIONS AND INCLUSIONS :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The guide will accompany you for a maximum of 3 hours, for an AM or PM block, depending on your ease and skills. It is your responsibility to check the opening status of rando-ski trails and those open for your descents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The rando-ski ticket, chairlift access or equipment rental are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not included in the service<\/span>. <strong>Daily ticket for trails: $26 + taxes <\/strong>if purchased online at least one day in advance, or $31 at regular price.<\/p>\n<p>Access to trails is valid all day. Access to the lifts requires a separate ticket or pass.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You must have the safe equipment required for the activity. You must be dressed accordingly and have appropriate equipment. It is the guide&#8217;s duty to inspect all equipment prior to departure, and may refuse to authorize the departure if the equipment is qualified unsafe. A rental service will be available if necessary.
