Over the last few years, many steps have been taken towards reducing and managing all of our waste as well as conserving and protecting the mountain’s natural resources. Here are a few examples:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At the mountain<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\n- Development and maintenance of trails and equipment in a way to reduce negative impacts on fauna and flora.<\/li>\n
- Adoption of a new water management plan: use of household wastewater, control system, etc.<\/li>\n
- Purchase of new snow guns with lower energy consumtion rates than those of previous guns.<\/li>\n
- Use of composting toilets for our chalets located at the top of the mountain.<\/li>\n
- Establishment of a plan of action to raise skiers’ and snowboarders’ awareness of reforestation zones.<\/li>\n
- Pieces of land sold to Nature Conservancy Canada to protect fragile areas and natural habitats.<\/li>\n
- Reduction in the use of ice removal products.<\/li>\n
- 10 charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) were installed and made available to customers in the P2B parking lot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
<\/p>\n
For the community<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\n- Participation in the development of a BioKit for Sutton in collaboration with the Centre local de d\u00e9veloppment Brome-Missisquoi, the Corporation de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique de Sutton, and Environment Canada.<\/li>\n
- Member of the board for the Coop\u00e9rative de solidarit\u00e9 Sutton en Haut.<\/li>\n
- Rights of passage granted, support and resources lent to the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton, responsible for hiking trail development and maintenance.<\/li>\n
- Recycling of computer equipment.<\/li>\n
- Donation of ski clothing to non-profit orgnizations.<\/li>\n
- Donations to local fundraising events, as well as participation in such activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
